This review is for the Mississippi Burning blu ray edition released on June 18, 2019 by Kino Lorber. Both Hackman and DaFoe are superb, as are the supporting caste (especially Brad Dourif, who is always effective when portraying unsavory characters).

I feel it would be difficult to make a film like this in today's Politically Correct world, apart from the film Selma that came out 6 years ago, about Martin Luther King, doing his civil rights march that involved some violence, until the white populace joined them and the march went ahead without the Police violence.

... ist der Film somit nicht zum Scheitern verurteilt. Images are sharper, more vivid, contrast is excellent, even in dark scenes (the scenes in the night), images look beautiful and sharp.

Alan Parkers siebenfach oscarnominiertes Thriller-Drama „Mississippi Burning“ beruht auf wahren Begebenheiten und erzählt von rassistischen Übergriffen im Südosten der Vereinigten Staaten, im Bundesstaat Mississippi. The movie reminds everyone in the USA about the right to vote or should i say the inability to vote for some!

The contrast between Hackman's veteran policeman and DaFoe's fresh-faced and naive youngster allows for some truly exceptional dialogue which helps to illustrate and make sense of some of the most bitter of social conflicts.

Gli agenti dell'Fbi Anderson e Ward decidono di investigare sulla loro scomparsa. Gene Hackman is terrific as the ex Southern sheriff who is now FBI with Willem Dafoe the younger more idealistic lead agent sent to investigate the disappearance and possible murder of 3 young activists in the Civil Rights movement. Mit Il film tratta dell'omicidio a sfondo razzista di tre giovani di colore a passeggio con la loro Buick nel sud USA notoriamente razzista.
